Community Bus Rentals

BOOKINGS

Trips must be booked a minimum of 2 weeks in advance (at least 4 weeks in advance is preferred).

The non profit rate for seniors serving agencies is $2 per kilometer plus a $35 an hour for drivers time.

Drivers time is calculated from pick up of bus prior to pre-trip inspection to drop off bus after post trip inspection, refueling and cleaning is complete. Additional 1 hour time is added to your booking.

User Groups

The group must have a group leader/attendant to be of assistance if a person becomes unwell. There must be additional support attendants/volunteers for each wheelchair passenger.

There will be no eating or drinking on the bus.

The group leader is responsible for making sure the venue is accessible for bus loading and unloading and to determine where a bus is to park. The group leader is also responsible for confirming that each venue is wheelchair accessible before the trip is booked.

Cancellations

If a user group has to cancel a trip, 48 hours notice is requested. If less than 48 hours notice is provided, a cancellation fee of 2 hours drivers time will be charged to the user group because the driver and other user groups will have been inconvenienced.

If a user group has to cancel due to an infectious disease outbreak or inclement weather or because the bus is not road worthy, the driver is to notify the user group as soon as such a cancellation is being made.

RMSS must be named on User Groups Liability Insurance. Your booking isn't confirmed until the Liability Insurance has been received. Liability Insurance must be recieved a minimum of one week prior to trip.

Final number of passengers, wheelchairs and walkers must be given to the Transportation Coordinator 48 hours in advance.
