THE SILVERTONES
The Silvertones is a choir of senior singers sponsored by the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society. The choir was formed in 1987 when Marjorie Bates, an accomplished musician and piano player, sought to gather a small group of people who loved to sing.
The mandate of the choir is to provide music and entertainment to the community, mainly to seniors in hospitals, and care and retirement homes. The choir has developed into a viable entity in Maple Ridge and beyond its borders. Each year they perform as many as forty concerts, entertaining with familiar songs and encouraging their audiences to participate.
